don't underline wiki links!
Underlining the wiki links creates a dreadful look. Web developers actively try to avoid link hell because it's extremely distracting visually. The original design was *much* bette
Efficient innovative Design
Hello, I have to say that the Usability Initiative did an amazing job. The user interface and the site looks cleaner and easier. I was even motivated to write a new complete Wikipedia article. So you know, it helps. There are some little issues here and there. E.g. would appreciate borders for the gallery.
To the Design: I love the new look which shows that you have spent days with the planning of the site. It is not overloaded so that it would cause the exclusion of people in developing countries who have slow internet connections or slow PCs. It also gives Wikimedia a whole new identity in the WWW who tends to go more in this direction: Image
My question was: Is there the possibility to give the user the choice for the background (blue, green, yellow, orange, violet, pink and eventually even images)? Because I am not sure whether everyone is going to like this bright mix of grey and white. Trickymaster 05:02, 28 August 2009 (UTC)
jump to edit when using buttons
When I click on the edit button and then -- without having clicked into to edit window -- click on some buttons in the new help bar (e.g. external link, embed file) then these are pasted into the edit window at the very end without notifying the user. So, after sending the edit, I first wondered where these "link title"-things came from. --Constantin Greubel 00:10, 1 September 2009 (UTC)
sophisticated diff-editing possibility
Perhaps an idea for later implementation: When comparing two revisions of an article, I'd like to have an more sophisticated possibility to make changes directly when watching the diff, especially when a diff is very long. Right now, I have to remember everything I want to revert or add, when I check the diffs in my watchlist. --Constantin Greubel 00:10, 1 September 2009 (UTC)
Links to current page in the navigation menu
I've filled a bug about selflinks in the navigation menu, that's bugzilla:20455. But it seems our developers doesn't know how to do that because of a problem with the cache. And it seems it's none of their priority either. Perhaps you could give them a hand ? Thanks. 160.53.250.113 08:32, 1 September 2009 (UTC)
Links (tabs) at the top right instead of the top left
I must say that while I really enjoy the visual appeal of the beta, I am not a fan of it. Having the edit/history/etc at the right instead of the left is keeping me from using this. I can only hope that unlike the many social networking sites that routinely force users to use their new (crappier and ad filled) layout, that we are given the option of using this interface, or remaining with the old one. - 99.227.74.32 21:31, 1 September 2009 (UTC)
