IE6 bug
Here a screenshot with IE6.0.2900.5512.xpsp_sp3_gdr.090206-1234 --Eneas 06:33, 17 June 2009 (UTC)
- This looks like it needs major surgery, I am working on obtaining a copy of XP so I can perform high-frequency testing while developing. Trevor Parscal 18:06, 18 June 2009 (UTC)
- IE6 is now fully compatible. IE5.5 is also now compatible, except for the toolbar which requires support for jQuery. A simplified backwards compatible version based on the same core data structure is being considered.
Opera 10 Problems
Two small problems with Opera 10.
- When clicking the gallery icon under Insert, the gallery tags and example text are inserted just fine, but the last character of the example text ("2") is not selected automatically.
- In the preferences page, the tabs render perfectly, but due to my small screen resolution, the "Gadgets" tab gets bumped down under the other tabs and on top of the gray preferences area.

- (#2) A display bug which pushed the tabs over to the right a bit is now fixed, can you check to see if this has solved your issue on your display (1024x768?) Trevor Parscal 18:04, 18 June 2009 (UTC)

IE8 bug
Having IE8 tested, I noticed a small bug with the banner across top page (welcome to wikipedia). The down part of this table is not shown. Here is a sceenshot : http://img15.imageshack.us/img15/8370/testie8.png Dodoïste 18:14, 19 June 2009 (UTC)
- IE8 is definitely not compatible RTL to me, see this screnshot : http://img526.imageshack.us/img526/6128/nortlie8.png 89.217.6.95 21:40, 29 June 2009 (UTC)
- IE8 compatibility for RTL is working well on my VM instance which I am testing with. Do you have the page in compatibility mode? If so, you are seeing the page as it is in IE7 - which has known RTL problems. --75.101.56.5 18:36, 30 June 2009 (UTC)
Fade-out “tabs”
I am not sure if this is the right place for it. But.
I like this very much; it works wonderfully under Firefox on a Mac. However, I am finding the fade-out tabs very visually distracting and unappealing. I have a few assorted processing issues that specifically end up with visual distractions being bad. Aside from that, it hasn't broken yet, but I did want to bring this to folks' attention. Additionally, it could use about 5px of space between the tabs, to give them a bit more individual distinctness. I will add more notes on the usability of this as I find them.

- I have to agree. The main problem I see is that the "tabs" don't remotely look like tabs or anything else the user will be familiar with. What is blending the content area to the background via a bit of text supposed to be a visual metaphor for anyway? At least with the old tabs there was the sense that they were similar to the OS's and other software's property pages, that is gone now. 82.139.87.11 23:33, 17 August 2009 (UTC)
Bullet list on the left side in IE8
I wonder why there are bullets in front of items in navigation, toolbox,... (left side of the page) in IE8, while there aren't in FF3. IMO, it makes the list more tangled. Vinhtantran 02:42, 7 August 2009 (UTC)
Screenshots on all browsers, all OSes
Try Browsershots.org. Nifty little website I found recently, which will render a page you specify on many different operating system and browser combinations, with or without Javascript, Java or Flash and with a screen resolution and colour depth you specify, then spit out screenshots. Could be very useful for testing basic rendering without having to wait for users with different OSes and browsers to come along by themselves. 62.56.63.11 19:16, 7 August 2009 (UTC)
Single User Login
I can't log in to this prototype wiki using SUL login. Is it possible or do I have to create new account for this? Dreamertan 19:11, 9 August 2009 (UTC)
Font size problem
I've just visited a sample page and I must say that the font is headache inducingly small. Text boxes for user input render correctly, as do the "Go" and "Search" buttons, but all other text is tiny, I think the "o" is only seven pixels high or so, even though I've specified in my browser preferences that the default sans serif font should be Arial 24. This happens in all my browsers, so I think it's a CSS bug rather than a browser bug. 82.139.87.11 23:29, 17 August 2009 (UTC)
Browser distribution stats
Why are the browser usage figures from W3Schools, which is skewed toward (misguided) web developers? Surely Wikipedia’s own stats would be more relevant. — 82.36.30.34 01:54, 23 August 2009 (UTC)
Colours for visited and unvisited links
The colour of unvisited and vistited links is hard to distinguish. It used to be blue #002BB8 for unvisited pages, and magenta #5A3696 for links you've already clicked on. Now it is blue #0645AD and dark blue #0B0080. I didn't change anything in my SUL account settings. I use Konqueror 3.5.10 (KDE 3.5.10). Don't know if this is browser specific. ‣Andreas•⚖ 18:22, 23 August 2009 (UTC)
Browser stats: use engines instead of browsers (and Konqueror/KHTML is missing)
I'm using Konqueror, which is missing in the stats.
Wouldn't it be a good idea to stat the rendering engines instead of the browsers, what would be KHTML for Konqueror, Gecko for Mozilla (Firefox & Co.), Trident (or just MSHTML) for Internet Explorer, Webkit for Safari and Presto for Opera? Just an idea…
IE6 page loading : CPU 100% during 8s
As explained there:
- Hi
- With Acai, my browser (behind a proxy) on page load, use 100%CPU during about 8s for each page to load (the perfmon indicates 100% CPU used by the unique IEXPLORER process). The configuration of my computer is (basics): Celeron 2.40GHz processor, 504 Mbytes RAM, 8Mbytes/s (IP) access, Microsoft WindowsXP Pro 2002 SP2, Internet Explorer 6.0.2900.2180.xpsp_sp2_gdr.090206-1233 SP2. Javascript onload execution ? I Hope I'm the only one having this problem, but I quit açai for now.
- With the "normal" version, it tooks 1 to 2s at least for the same pages.
This is with the default Acai CSS, so I just changed to the classic version of the used css file. -- Eric schreiner 12:49, 25 August 2009 (UTC)
